• Archivist

Kyle completed an MLIS in 2025, focused on archives, preservation, research, and digital asset management. He has cataloged, rehoused, and described both digital photographs and physical objects, from film materials to costumes and props.

His experience includes internships at Lucasfilm, the American Film Institute, and the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden. He spent a year and a half as Photo Archive Coordinator at NBCUniversal, writing metadata standards and managing a large photographic archive. He is now an Archival Collections Assistant at Iron Mountain, writing condition reports, prepping exhibitions, and photographing costumes, props, and textiles for a major entertainment studio archive in Los Angeles.

He also keeps a personal collection of more than 7,000 antique postcards and photographs.

  • Photographer

Kyle is a published photographer and travel writer focused on landscapes and historic places. He has published 45 books, sells fine art prints, and has photographed more than 800 places in California, with a particular eye for wildflowers and cityscapes.

He has been a photographer for The Walt Disney Company for more than eight years at the Disneyland Resort, including the openings of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, and image review for metadata.

Museums and their exhibitions are a particular passion: he photographs galleries, objects, and installations, and also photographs studio costumes and props for exhibition.

  • Editor

Kyle has spent the last decade on photo restoration, retouching, digitization, and black-and-white colorization. His clients include companies, film and television studios, galleries, museums, and historical societies. He restored photographs for The Coca Cola Company and colorized western photographs for an installation at the Washakie Museum & Cultural Center.

At NBCUniversal he edited photography for popular shows, prepped Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade 100th anniversary photography, and wrote the copystand digitization workflow for the photo archive, from capture through delivery. He also uses the same editing practice in his own photographs, books, and designs.

A Spiritual Journey Along Route 66 in Photos

From the sacred lands of Santa Fe and ancient voices at Petroglyph National Monument, through surreal stone forests of Petrified Forest National Park, iconic roadside relics like the Wigwam Motel and Bagdad Café, and the Mojave’s haunting beauty, to the Pacific shores of Santa Monica.

These photographs trace not just the physical Mother Road, but its deeper resonance: a pilgrimage of land, memory, and quiet saints to honor Route 66’s 100th Anniversary.
